South Africa Closing in on 100,000 COVID-19 Cases

South Africa is fast closing in on 100,000 confirmed cases of novel corona virus after the nation’s Minister of Health announced a spike to 92,681 on Saturday. The Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, reported 4,966 addition to existing cases just in the last 24 hours, marking the highest number of cases recorded in a single day since the index case in March. The African Union (AU) has suspended South Sudan from the continental body over failure to meet up with their financial obligations over a three-year period amounting to over 9 million U.S. dollars. The suspension was confirmed in a letter from South Sudan’s mission to Ethiopia to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday attributing it to failure to pay its membership dues for three consecutive years. Update: Oshiomhole’s Suspension Lifted by Edo APC Ward Executives

The suspension of Adams Oshiomhole by the All Progressive Congress (APC) at his ward has been lifted. It was lifted by seventeen out of 27 members of the Ward 10, Etsako West Local Government Area,  APC congress executives. It was made known to the press by Secretary of the ward, Emuakemeh on Saturday in Abuja. Oshiomhole was suspended by the APC in November following his long lasting discord with Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state.
