The Super Falcons of Nigeria lost 0-1 to the Copper Queens of Zambia in the third-place match of the WAFCON 2022 on Friday in Morocco. The Zambian side claimed the Bronze medal courtesy of an own goal by Chiamaka Nnadozie in the first half of the encounter. The medal marked Zambia’s first ever medal. The Falcons had only finished fourth at the WAFCON in the 2012 edition. Zambia got their goal in the 29 minutes when Evarine Katongo’s long range shot came off Nnadozie after it initially hit the post and deflected into the net. Following the collapse of the national grid on Wednesday, the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has said that the repair is at the final stages. This was disclosed by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, in a statement issued to journalists.
