Lagos Continues Sale of Lake Rice Despite End of the Eid Celebrations

The Lagos State Government has said the  sales of its popular brand, Lake Rice, will continue at all designated centres across the State despite the end of the Eid celebrations. While speaking on the reason for the continuous sales of the rice, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Olayiwole Onasanya affirmed that the products are available at various centres across the State including the Agricultural Development Authority Complex, Oko-Oba; Lagos State Agriculture Inputs Supply Authority (LAISA), Ojo and the Blue Roof at LTV Complex, Agidingbi, Ikeja. Lagos SUBEB to Partner LNSC in the Fight Against Social Vices in Schools

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on Thursday reiterated his commitment to seek the support of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSC) in curbing cultism and other social vices in primary schools in the state. Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Shopeyin, the State Chairman, sought for the partnership when the board visited the LNSCA headquarter’s Safety Arena, at Oshodi, Lagos. Shopeyin said that the agency was saddled with the responsibility of managing public primary schools in the state and ensuring that lives of pupils and property of the schools were safe. Ondo State Officially Bans Okada Riders on Ore Expressway

The Ondo State Government on Thursday officially ban the operations of commercial motorcycles, popularly called `Okada’ on the Ore Expressway following the frequent incidences of crimes in the area. The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo, disclosed this in a press statement he made available to newsmen in Akure. He said that the ban had become imperative in view of the activities of some unscrupulous elements using their `okada’ to perpetrate evil on the Ofosu-Ajebamidele route along the Ore Expressway. UN appoints Winnie Byanyima as UNAIDS New Executive Director

The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, has appointed Ms Byanyima as the UNAIDS Executive Director and a United Nations Under-Secretary-General following a comprehensive selection process that involved a search committee constituted by members of the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board.
