Breaking: Nigerian FEC Approves N13.08tn Budget for 2021

The Nigerian Federal Executive Council (FEC) has projected a N13.08 trillion budget for the 2021 fiscal year. Speaking to State House Correspondents after the weekly virtual FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, also said the oil benchmark has been pegged at $40 per barrel. The National Assembly has completed the installation of automated COVID-19 sanitizing devices on all entrance points to curb the spread of the virus. The chamber now has a chest containing hand sanitizer. This is different from the automated sanitizer which sprays substances on any individual that walks through it in other to kill viruses or germs that may be attached to the person. Nigeria: Boko Haram attacks Zulum’s Convoy, Soldier Injured

The convoy of Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, was involved in a fresh attack on Sunday morning around Baga. The fresh attack which did not record any death, happened when the governor and his convoy were returning to Maiduguri. This latest attack is coming two days after the governor was involved in a similar attack on Friday which led to several casualties. Former retired staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Dr. Chris Okonkwo has been reinstated back to the service of the company. According to a statement signed by the General Secretary of Senior Staff Association of Electricity and Allied Companies (SSAEAC), Comrade Nnamdi Ajibo, Okonkwo’s reinstatement followed review of petitions and due investigations by the Ministers of Power and Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige and Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN). 30 Dead as Boko Haram Attack Borno Governor’s Convoy

The Convoy of Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum was attacked by terror sect Boko Haram on Friday leaving the death toll at 30. Sources in Maiduguri said the casualties from the attack on Zulum on a highway had doubled, following the recovery of more bodies. The victims of the attack included policemen and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force. However, The police and the governor have come out to said 11 people died in the attack. The Federal Government on Friday commissioned and subsequently handed over the Infectious Disease Care Centre built and equipped by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), to the management of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada. The Centre has now been mandated to increase the nation's capacity to manage cases of infectious diseases and al respond to outbreaks.
