Nigeria: Ekiti Elections – Party Agents Arrested for Sharing Money at Polling Stations

Security operatives arrested at least five party agents who were sharing monetary incentives at different polling stations in the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti today. Some of them were arrested at Jonathan memorial School, Ajilosun in Ado Ekiti. Two gubernatorial candidates had raised alarm, accusing APC and PDP agents of openly sharing money without any intervention by security operatives. According to Bisi Omoyeni, the candidate for Mega party, people were being openly given money to vote. He said "some political parties had been buying votes by giving money to voters openly.but said he was confident of winning despite this because he was the best of all the candidates. World Cup: Croatia Through to the Finals, Wins England 2:1

Croatia this evening sailed into the finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup after winning England 2:1 after extra time. Despite taking an early lead through a 5th minute Trippier goal, England gave up their lead in 68th minute when Perisic stabbed in Croatia's equalizer from a cross. After the game was levelled, Croatia had more chances to bury the game, with Ivan Perisic's shot hitting the inside of the upright. The game continued into extra time and in the 109th minute, Mandzukic scored the winner for Croatia. Fulani Herdsmen: About 50 Killed in Fresh Attacks at Adamawa

About 50 persons have been reportedly killed in fresh attacks in Adamawa state. The attack which was reportedly carried out by armed fulani herdsmen took place in Gojefa, Bujum Yashi, Bujum Waya, Sabon layi and Bujum Kasuwa, all vilages in Numan Local Government Area of the state. The attack also affected the following communities in Taraba state: Anguwan Bishop Yotti, Todung, Budon, Bunzum and Bamga Dutse. According to reports, the attacks took place on Monday night. Premiership: Mahrez Finally Join ManCity for £60 million

Premiership champions Manchester City has finally signed Riyad Mahrez from Leicester for £60 million on a 5-year deal. This amount is about €68m or $80m. The signing finally put to rest the transfer saga that started in January which even saw the player boycotting some training sessions for his now former club.
