Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State has urged the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to negotiate with Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Fayose said this on Thursday when he featured on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
He said that Obi and Wike will determine the party’s chances of winning the 2023 election.
Fayose said, “Reconciling or negotiating with Obi will be a good thing and finding a way to make peace with these Wike people will be a good thing too.”
According to Fayose, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State may not clinch the needed 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states to win the presidential election in 2023.
Foyose urged the PDP to dialogue with Obi, and also dialogue with Wike with a view of resolving the internal crisis within the party, to stand a better chance of winning the election next year.
He said, “Obi is a danger to watch out for. I don’t believe Obi will make 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states of the federation.
“I’m not against Obi. I love him and he is a very vibrant leader. I don’t believe he will get the required 25 percent of votes because of my permutations as Ayodele Fayose, but with God, nothing shall be impossible.
“Let me say Obi is more of a chronic cancer to PDP and there is no denying.”

Meanwhile, the former Ekiti State governor expressed doubt over the likelihood of his party securing majority vote in the South-West and South-East regions of the country.
Fayose added, “Let me give you an analysis. In South-West, people might not like to hear that, I don’t see how PDP will win. Anybody deceiving us can continue to deceive us.
“I don’t see how PDP will win in the South-East. South-south will be a combination of all interests. Let me come to the key states of the north.
“Without deceiving ourselves, there is so much work to do in the north-central. PDP and APC did not pick any candidate, either presidential or vice-presidential, from the north-central. The North-East is where the vice-presidential candidate of APC comes from.
“We will give Adamawa state to our party. Don’t forget there is still another Kwankwaso who is a semi-cancer that can equally upstage figures in the north,” he said.
