Many people sustained varying degrees of injury while some residents fled as a gas plant exploded in Rumuodomaya community, Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday night, African News Today has gathered.
The incident took place at about 8;45 pm with a loud sound which caused panic among residents of the area with some fleeing their homes in panic.
African News Today could not ascertain the cause of the explosion at the time of filing this report.
The latest explosion came barely three weeks after a gas leak at a facility operated by the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) in Elibrada, Emuoha Local Government Area of the state.
