A truck had lost control and ran into four vehicles transporting supporters of Matawalle along Gusau/Funtua road.
Matawalle disclosed this on Sunday while on condolence visit to the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, along with cabinet members and the management of BUA Group.
The governor pledged N2m to families of each of the deceased, who had a wife and N1.5 to families of the unmarried among the accident victims.
He added that next of kins of each of the deceased will be put on a monthly stipend of N50,000 each.
He went further to state that he will ensure introduction of speed limit gauge on highways and weight measurement on trucks as well as drug tests on drivers in order to guard against reckless driving, which leads to preventable mishaps.
According to Matawalle, the introduction of death penalty will dissuade drivers from driving recklessly in roads, adding that the lives of citizens of the state were more valuable than any other thing.
He tasked the management of BUA company to call their drivers to order and caution them on acceptable speed limit.
