Residents of Port Harcourt have thrown into turmoil after an explosion hit a part of Mile 3 Market situated along the Ikwere Road.
The explosion took place in the early hours of Monday, within the mile 3 motor park.
Reports say there was no casualty in the explosion, but scores were left injured.
A source who spoke with Vanguard narrated that the explosion caused panic in the market as traders and commuters scampered for safety.
Reacting to the incident, the spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, said the police were going to the area to ascertain what happened.
This comes barely three months after an inferno razed a part of the market.
