Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has said that the Muhammadu Buhari government cannot assure Nigerians that there won’t be security breaches as only Heaven is safe.
Keyamo disclosed this while responding to a question during an interview on Channels Television on the Buhari government’s efforts toward tackling insecurity across the country.
Recall that Keyamo was recently appointed as the All Progressives Congress, APC, spokesperson ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The Minister said his party, the APC, did not assure Nigerians that there won’t be insecurity but pledged to respond swiftly to security breaches which they have done well.

He said, “It is only in heaven that there will be no security breach at all and we have not arrived heaven and still on earth so there must be security breach.
“There are jailbreaks in America but that doesn’t mean the government has failed.
“We didn’t promise that insecurity will not happen, we promised response; last week, we killed those in the bushes in Abuja. Abuja is safe now, there’s no incident around the bushes of Abuja now.
“We promised response and we’ve delivered well.
People should not engage in scaremongering, the bandits just want to scare Nigerians, that’s their oxygen, they want to create panic
“When you don’t give them that fear or panic, they go away.”
