The Northern Governors Forum (NGF) has expressed grief over the demise of former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
Ajimobi who until yesterday, briefly served as the Acting National Chairman of the Al Progressive Congress (APC) passed away on Thursday, aged 70.
The NGF Chairman, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State while sympathizing with the family and government of Oyo state, described Ajimobi’s death as painful.
The Plateau state governor described Ajimobi as a man of integrity, who served his state and Nigeria with excellence.
Lalong praised Ajimobi’s leadership traits and recounted his pivotal roles in the formation of the APC which made him the favourite of many.
He said such qualities informed his appointment as the party’s Deputy National Chairman, South.
”The late Ajimobi’s contributions to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria during his career made a significant impact on its growth and development,” the NGF chairman said.
Lalong condoled with Ajimobi’s wife, children and entire family, urging them to take solace in his legacies and accept his death as the will of God.
