The Kogi State House of Assembly complex situated at Crusher Area of Lokoja was up in flames in the early hours of Monday.
The damage largely damaged the Assembly complex in the ill-fated incident on Monday.
Among the people that arrived the complex early were the Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, and the state security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara.
The cause of the fire was not clear as at the time of filing this report.
Speaking on the incident, the Speaker of the Assembly expressed reservations, noting that it might be an act of sabotage, but could not mention the source of the sabotage.
Commenting on whether the incident could be linked to the recent probing of Dangote group by the Assembly, he said that that is left to the security to determine.
“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.
