A former senator from Ilawe Ekiti, Bode Olowoporoku has died.
The veteran politician passed on in Ilawe Ekiti on Wednesday after briefly battling illness, Saharareporters reports.
The former federal lawmaker represented Ekiti Senatorial District between 2003 and 2007 under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Born on September 29, 1945, Olowoporoku was Minister of State for Science and Technology between 1979 and 1981.
He was one of the prominent actors that advocated for the creation of Ekiti State in 1996.
The late senator vied for the 2018 governorship election in his state.
