The feat meant the Falcons will be making a ninth consecutive appearance at the global showpiece.

Nigeria knocked out the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter-final of the WAFCON on Thursday to book a place at the World Cup.

Forward, Rasheedat Ajibe, who plays for Atletico Madrid of Spain scored the solitary goal of the match when he headed home a cross from Ifeoma Onumonu to secure the win.

The Falcons are set to play hosts Morocco on Monday in the semi-final.

Reacting to the qualification, FIFA wrote on its Twitter handle, “Nine in a row. 🔥You absolutely love to see it. 🇳🇬 .
