The Federal Government (FG) has declared Thursday as a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-el Maolud.
The celebration is in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
This was disclosed by Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Raud Aregbesola on behalf of the government who congratulated all Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Mohammed Manga in a statement on Tuesday titled, ‘FG declares Thursday, October 29, 2020 public holiday to mark Eidul Mawlid celebration,’ made the announcement.
The minister urged Nigerians, particularly Muslims to eschew all forms of lawlessness and violence as witnessed across the country recently.
