The National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, has suspended its nationwide strike.
The suspension followed an emergency meeting with Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment on Wednesday.
Olajide Oshundun, the minister’s spokesperson disclosed that Ngige intervened in the strike.

Joe Ajaero, the NUEE Secretary General, gave the assurance that electricity would be restored across the country later on Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, members of the union shut down all Transmission Companies of Nigeria, TCN, offices.
At the time of filing this report, our correspondent confirmed that electricity has been restored in some parts of the country in the late hours of Wednesday.
