The Presidency on Tuesday confirmed an attack on President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy comprising cays conveying the advance team of security guards, protocol, and media officers ahead of the president’s scheduled visit to his hometown for Sallah.

A statement issued by the President’s media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, confirmed the incident describing it as unwelcome and sad.

Shehu stated that the terrorists who attacked the convoy from ambush positions injured two persons but were met with a heavy response by the military, police, and Department of State Service personnel accompanying the convoy.

He said, “Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered.

“All the other personnel, staff, and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
