One of the “clergymen” who attended the unveiling of Kashim Shetimma as Bola Tinubu’s running mate has broken the silence.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday presented former Borno State governor as its running mate to former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu.
Social media was agog with reactions on the attendance of some “clergymen”, most with questionable affiliation to any Christian denomination
Clips showed them arriving at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, the venue of the unveiling. However, most of them refused to answer questions from journalists.

Their attire, which portrayed them as Catholic Priests, Bishops, etc., elicited questions from social media users who questioned their unconformity to the Catholic church’s liturgical colours.
Amid the reactions, Dailypost identified one of the “Bishops” Ugo Ugokwe to have responded to the curiosity of Nigerians in a post on his Facebook page yesterday.
Ugokwe contested for the position of APC Deputy Youth Leader (South East) at the March 26 national convention.
He said, “I have seen ‘many’ fake news about me and my foundation. It’s okay. Anybody can write what they want to generate traffic.
“I know the guy that I allowed to interview me was out for fake news. He was desperate to see something, to rubbish men of God.
“We are for peace and love not hate. Jesus Christ is love. Christians and Muslims should preach love no matter the challenge in our country Nigeria.
“Just vote your heart in 2023. Don’t hate”, Ugokwe (Amb Ugokwe Prince on Facebook) wrote.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has disowned the “clergymen” who were at the APC event, describing them as not its members.
