Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has disclosed that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) will collapse in a short time, and give way for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to give Nigerians a purposeful leadership they desired.

Tambuwal made the remark on Saturday at the inauguration of the party’s eastern zone council’s polls campaigns in Gwadabawa Town, headquarters of Gwadabawa Local Government Area where no fewer than 12, 000 APC members who defected to the PDP were received.

He said the opposition party had since lost focus and the confidence of Nigerians for not being able to deliver its mandate as promised.

Tambuwal said: “I am not surprised at the state APC’s resolution not to participate in the polls coming up on March 27.

He said the electorates at the grassroots regard council polls as an important aspect of democratic process that will give them the opportunity to decide who leads them.

He described the third tier of government as the closest  to the people at the grassroots.

Tambuwal said his government was working hard to ensure peace, stability and security of lives and property of people in the state.

A PDP stalwart from the zone and Commissioner for Rural Development, Alhaji Usman Suleiman Danmadamin Isa decried seeming political issues affecting the unity of members of the party in the zone.

The Chairman of the party, Bello Aliyu Goronyo, who presented the party’s eight chairmanship candidates from the zone maintained that the PDP remains a party to beat.
