APC Crisis: Victor Giadom Emerges Parallel Acting National Chairman

Oluwole Afolabi counsel to Victor Giadom, Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared him as the legitimate Acting National Chairman of the APC.

This development has complicated the leadership crisis rocking the ruling party. Afolabi in a statement on Wednesday claimed that a court in FCT had recognised Giadom as the Acting chairman.

Afolabi cautioned Ajimobi against parading himself as the Chairman of the APC or risk contempt of court.

He said a statement issued by the party affirming Senator Abiola Ajumobi as Acting Chairman must been have issued in error or out of ignorance of the order of the FCT High Court issued on 16th of March, 2020, by Hon. Justice S.U Bature in Suit No. FCT/HC/M/6447/2020.

Consequently, Giadom addressed members of the press in Abuja today and reversed the decisions of the Adams Oshiomhole Chairmanship in the APC’s primary election in Edo State, Nigeria.

He thereafter asked all aspirants including Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo to reappear before the screening committee for a fresh process.

A court of Appeal had on Tuesday in Abuja upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman thus giving paving way for a new leadership in the party.

This latest development comes 24 hours after Godwin Obaseki resigned his membership of the APC. The party had nominated Abiola Ajimobi as the Acting Chairman.
