Abducted Niger APC Chairman Rescued

The abducted All Progressives Congress (APC) Zone ‘C’ Chairman in Niger State, Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi, has been rescued.

His rescue is coming a day after the Niger State Commissioner of Information; Alhaji Mohammed Idris Sani was released by his abductors.

Bobi was abducted last week at about 2.30 pm by unknown gunmen on his way to the farm along Ukuru Road in Bobi District Area of Mariga Local Government Area.

A press release by the Niger State Police Command stated that the APC chairman was rescued unhurt and has been taken to the General Hospital, Kontagora for medical attention.

The statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun said: “The Command mobilized a joint police, army and vigilante team to the area for manhunt of the gunmen. The abducted chairman was released by the abductors on 13/08/2021 at about 1530hrs and resurfaced around Igwama forest, Bobi district area of Mariga Local Government Area of the state.

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Monday Bala Kuryas, said the efforts being used to rescue the APC Chieftain and the Commissioner of Information would be intensified to ensure that the students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School are equally released and rescued unhurt.

He solicited more cooperation from the people of the state, urging them to come up with useful information to help the Police.
