Rotimi Amaechi, immediate past Minister of Transportation, has expressed concern that the bishops that recently attended the unveiling of former Borno State Governor, Kashim Shetima, as Bola Tinubu’s running mate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, may not be real.

Amaechi, a former presidential aspirant under the APC, disclosed this at the 60t birthday celebration of Eugene Ogu, general overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission, in Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt.

He said that although the individuals may not be bishops but are Christians.

Amaechi said, “Those bishops you saw [Kashim Shettima’s unveiling ceremony], they may not be bishops, but they are Christians.”

There has been an uproar over the attendance of Shettima’s unveiling by the ‘bishops’ numbering over 30. Commentators have expressed doubts over the authenticity of the ‘bishops’ and their denomination in Christendom.

The APC has also faced criticism over its choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket. The party’s Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, announced Shettima, a fellow Muslim as his running.
