Morocco has become the first African side to fully crash out of the tournament following a 1:0 defeat to Portugal today. Ronaldo’s 4th minute header was sufficient to seal the win for the Portuguese and a ticket home for the Moroccans.

After the match, the Moroccan coach said “We qualified for a World Cup after 20 years and we’ve showed that we can play football.”

On his part, Portugal’s coach said “It’s a World Cup. This is a strong team, as were Morocco, but we have to grow. We did well defensively, and we played well, but we need more than that. We have to change and earn more possession.”

Morocco will now face Spain on the 25th while Portugal will face Iran at the same time. While the match will be more of a formality for Morocco, it will be important to determine who tops the group.
