President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana has declared zero tolerance for same-sex marriage in Ghana, saying his administration will never legalise it.
This was contained in his speech during the installation program for an Anglican Archbishop held in Mampong on Saturday.
He said, ”I have said this before, and let me stress again that it will not be under the Presidency of Nana Akufo-Addo that same-sex marriage will be legalised in Ghana.
“It will never happen. Let me repeat; it will never happen,” he said to the cheering audience.
The declaration came at a when there has been mixed reactions over the recent closure of an LGBTQ office in the capital city, Accra.
