Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has called out Super Eagles duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi for showcasing the Nigerian flag after winning the FA Cup in England.
Both players were part of Leicester City side that outsmarted Chelsea by a lone goal at Webley Stadium on Saturday to clinch the prestigious cup in England.
Iheanacho and Ndidi who are both from Igbo extraction displayed the Nigerian flag while celebrating their victory at full time.
Kanu in his reaction slammed both players claiming it was a testament to their lack of support for his agitation for an independent state of Biafra.
The IPOB leader expressed strong displeasure at the Leicester players, referencing Spain and Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, who publicly identified with his native region, Catalonia.
He tweeted, “Gerard Pique is a World Cup winner with over 103 caps for Spain. He never turned his back against Catalonia freedom. Severally, he has shown open support for Catalan freedom.
“But our Iheanacho & Ndidi with #Zoo flag? Broken heartBroken heartShame!
“Difference between a White man and his Black counterparts.”
